Lillie’s Q Founder and Chef, Charlie McKenna, lost his aunt Katherine to breast cancer in 2000.
Lillie’s Q Chef and Founder, Charlie McKenna created Barbecure as a means to raise funds for cancer research and positively impact families and communities affected by cancer. Barbecure raises funds through events, specialty product sales and donations. Funds raised are donated to the McKenna family’s foundation, the Katherine McKenna Brother’s Scholarship Fund as well as a rotating charity each year.
The Katherine McKenna Brothers Scholarship Fund
The McKenna family founded The Katherine McKenna Brothers Scholarship Fund in Katherine’s honor and the Fund keeps her legacy alive by providing women full-ride scholarships to Katherine’s undergraduate alma mater, Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia. To date, the fund has supported more than 19 women at Brenau University.
